  • We are currently in an active assessment and development phase to revitalize the mountain bike trail network at Mount Arthur Reserve. While trails are temporarily closed, we are working closely with professional trail consultants and local clubs to conduct comprehensive safety and sustainability audits. This process is essential to ensuring our trails meet modern insurance standards and provide a world-class experience for riders. We look forward to sharing updates as these assessments progress.

  • Yes, dogs on leads are welcome in the Mt Arthur Reserve.

  • No. We recommend all visitors to the Reserve carry adequate drinking water,

  • No. The Mount Arthur Reserve is managed by a small group of volunteers dependent on volunteer labour, grants and fundraising. The management board is responsible for maintaining facilities, walking trails, management trails and pests and weeds. 

  • Fires may only be lit in the permanent BBQ fireplaces outside of the bushfire season. The lighting of fires within the Mount Arthur Reserve is prohibited during the bushfire season (1 October to 31 March), regardless of whether a Total Fire Ban day has been declared.

  • No, firewood collection is not permitted within the Mount Arthur Reserve. 


  • Yes. The Mount Arthur Reserve Land Manager strongly discourages people from using the Reserve during 'Extreme' or 'Catastrophic' Fire Danger ratings. Formal Reserve closures will also occur on 'Catastrophic' rated days, and otherwise in line with other reserves in the region (e.g. National Park Estate and State Forests).   • The Yarraman Trail (1.6km) is the only walking trail that may be shared by horse riders. Insurance coverage is required and riders use the reserve at their own risk. With prior notice the Land Manager will consider providing access to the management trails for horse riders.
